Glasgow Kelvin MSP Kaukab Stewart has helped to raise £200 for local charity, the Women’s Integration Network.

Ms. Stewart hosted a festive coffee morning at her constituency office in Merchant City ahead of the festive break.

Locals attended from across Glasgow, giving them a chance to mingle, network, and raise any issues they needed to with their local MSP.

Donations were made during the event and all funds raised went to the Women’s Integration Network.

Commenting, Kaukab Stewart MSP said:

“Christmas is a time for many things, but most importantly it’s for coming together and enjoying the company of friends, family, colleagues, and people in our communities.

“It’s also a time to reflect on what we can do better, and supporting organisations like the Women’s Integration Network will help them to do the important work they do in supporting and empowering women from a range of cultural backgrounds and identities.

“The Women’s Integration Network have been instrumental in helping to provide asylum seekers and refugees much-needed advocacy and information when navigating often complex asylum application systems and settling into their new communities.  The work they do literally changes lives.

“I’m grateful to those who came along to my coffee morning.  It was a lovely chance to catch up, have a bit of a blether, and to take on some casework for the new year.  I look forward to hosting more like this in the future.”
