Glasgow Kelvin MSP Kaukab Stewart has marked International Women’s Day 2024, alongside female SNP colleagues outside the Scottish Parliament. During an interview with The National, Ms Stewart endorsed the paper’s all-women International Women’s Day edition.
As Minister for Culture, Europe, and International Development, Kaukab Stewart announced a £3 million fund for women and girls in Malawi, Rwanda, and Zambia.
Ms Stewart, who is the first woman of colour to be elected to the Scottish Parliament, and the first woman of colour to hold a ministerial position in Scotland, led for the government on a debate on International Women’s Day:
